About Dr. Ellen Merkin

Dr. Ellen Merkin is a native of Las Vegas, Nevada. Having graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology, she then went on to earn her degree in Optometry from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1984.

Dr. Merkin did her optometric internships at the Seattle Indian Health Hospital and San Diego Naval Base. While attending Optometry School, she participated in a sixweek Optometric Outreach Program, examining people in the small villages of Peru. Her senior thesis project won her the Brock Vision Therapy Award.

Dr. Merkin has been in private practice in Las Vegas for over 35 years. 

In her spare time, Dr. Merkin is involved in various community activities, including the Polymer Clay Guild, Bottles of Hope, and various hiking groups. She is fully certified in the treatment of eye diseases and disorders.

Dr. Ellen Merkin and her staff are committed to providing expert eye care and optical services in a warm, friendly environment for patients of all ages, including children, adults, and seniors.
